Notes on the Aether (Rae judging)

OOC: how are the horses responding to all this?

Provided the horses don't seem too shaken, Galwynn will advance the weasel, his sword ready, so that if it charges the horses, it has to go through Galwynn first.

If he gets close to the thing, he'll shout "Get out of here, you damned menace!" before smashing it with his Greatsword.

POWER ATTACK = 1 point.

Galwynn's attack vs. Weasel, 1 point power attack added. (1d20+3=11, 2d6+5=12)

"Damn fast little guy, aren't you!?" he curses, as he buries his blade into the dirt.

"Ghik rhyaex, wux pothoc baeshra!" Tommy shouts as he slides awkwardly to the ground.
OOC - I'm in the curious position that I understand the Draconic (at least, I recognised the last three words), while Keldar doesn't. :)

the weasel has fled

Rapture circles around the weasel and slashs it near the neck.

Keldar moves to flank the creature. He takes a stab and barely misses

Tommy dismounts and pulls his crossbow.

Galwynn advances on the weasel, takes a mighty swing, and crashes his sword into the dirt.

The weasel realizes its dire situation and attempts to run off into the woods. Keldar takes a parting stab as it dashes by him and misses

"Good work, Galwynn," says Keldar. "The noise of you clobbering the ground frightened it off. I would never have thought of that." He winks at Rapture. "Let it go, it is faster than we are. But stay wary in case it returns." He backs towards the horses, keeping an eye on the edge of the road. "I wonder why it attacked. It must have killed recently, to be so covered in blood."

"Perhaps it was wounded. I believe animals are sometimes more aggressive when they are in pain."

Tommy eyes his horse warily. "I think I shall call you Rhyaex. And, I think I shall walk for a while."

"Aye, maybe," says Keldar. "But what had hurt such a creature before it met Rapture?"

OOC: once we're out of combat mode and travelling on, Keldar will poke around in the bushes where the dire weasel was hiding (take 10, Search +6)

"Perhaps it had just fed? Alas, we may never know," Rapture says as she cleans off her blade and sheaths it. "It was right here when I saw it first."

"Rapture," says Keldar, with a manner unusual for him, and a voice pitched for her ears alone as they inspect the bushes, "I am sorry I took so long to reach your side. It took me a few seconds to retrieve my daggers and more to move. I will not be taken by surprise again. Perhaps young Tommy can lead both his horse and Samina's, and I will walk with weapons in hand." Having said this, he begins to rearrange his belongings, stripping off his priest's robe ("I'll save this for Grenton") and ensuring that his morning star, numerous daggers and bow are all within easy reach.
