Notes on the Aether (Rae judging)

Galwynn elbows Keldar in the side, hard enough to cause the rogue to cough or choke, or whatever else is necessary to shut him up for a moment.

"Of course we can check it out. Although, some information on just exactly what we might face would be helpful. My companion here likes to have some preparation. After all, if we have to fight a 'basilisk', he's going to need a few minutes to think of something that rhymes so he can sing an annoying, off-key tune about it.

Singing doesn't come naturally to him, you see."
Galwynn laughs sharply.

So, what's the plan, guys? Head straight down south, or gather information? I'm all for jumping into things.

"What?" says Keldar. "I know I'd be grateful if a band of adventurers saved my town from a horde of smoke demons. I'd probably have sculptors starting on a statue of me already." Keldar shoves Galwynn back. "There's no risk with a basilisk so long as you are rather brisk," he says.

Galwynn groans at Keldar's rhymes. "Yeah. mayne they should make a statue out of you... they have plenty of materials. Mud and Dung would suit you perfectly fine."

"Well, the wizard of the tower is very prone to accidents, and they always seem to head this way, so we set it up after the time the living spell got loose. The things usually vanish after a couple hours, even if you leave them alone, but they tend to tear stuff up while they're around. The tower's about 4 stories, brick and steel. There are a few transparent sections, but the arn't glass, or at least you can't break them easily. We don't have much idea what the problem is this time, but it's pretty serious, given that Thyrin hasn't been able to stop it by now. We don't have much money around, given the whole craziness with the dragon and kobolds recently, but the wizard has a pretty good bit most likely."

"It's a long and unpleasent story, the problem got handled, and we never did find out exactly what went down between the adventurers that got us out of it and the dragon."

OOC: Translation: someone elses adventure that I wasn't there for.

"See, Galwynn?" hisses Keldar from the corner of his mouth. "All your talk of mud and dung has crushed their pride in their town." He flaps a hand at the paladin, dismissing their nonsense talk. "Ledges?" he asks the woman. "Overhanging roof? Rope seller hereabouts?"

"That's... fortunate." Galwynn sighs. "Well, let's get this over with. Can someone take care of our horses while we go? How long of a walk is it to get there?"

OOC: Ah. Thought things were about to get crazy-fun. So, um, what time of day is it?

"Um, correct me if I'm wrong, but did you say 'living spell'? Er, Tommy, your area of expertise?" says Keldar.

OOC: we got here faster than I expected. I thought there was mention of camping earlier on? I've not read the dragons and kobolds adventure.

OOC: Tommy might know IC, but it's not ringing any bells for me OOC. Anyone care to give a poor noob a hint? :)
