Notes on the Aether (Rae judging)

OOC: No reason we can't do both to speed things up. Interview in the tavern, and other issues.

"Sorry Keldar, and no, I don't truly believe any of you would do such a thing, but for such a change in heart in Sammy, I felt I should ask." Rapture says.

"And perhaps your horse might be more responsive to kindness m'lord," Rapture says to Tommy. "You catch more flies with honey than vinegar as the saying goes."

"I was being kind, on our previous journey, when suddenly..." Tommy protests, making a gesture that describes a lot of helpless flailing and some pain.

"He fell right on his chakra," says Keldar automatically. "Ah, Rapture, my lady, if only you had taken Sammy aside. If only you had left Keldar to live in peaceful ignorance, unaware that he is placed as a greater cause of dismay than death by stony fists and flame." He walks on ahead, and after a while, he lifts his voice in plaintive song:

"Alas, false hopes have now betrayed
My heart to sorrow and to pain,
And left it humbled and dismayed:
For she feels nothing but disdain.

It is small comfort for my grief
To know she means not to be cruel,
For how am I to find relief
When she sees nothing but a fool?

She does not know that I am captured,
So I must never dare aspire
To do more than live enraptured
And die at last in chaste desire."

"You know nothing of being captive Keldar," Rapture says, nearly making a bit of underlying anger. "And you are far from a fool."

"M'lord, you can remind the horse who it's master is while appealing to it's good nature," Rapture says.

"Two falsehoods in two sentences," says Keldar, "though the second lightens my heart." He stops, loosens his belt and takes off his backpack. "It was only a song," he says. "You can't believe everything you hear in songs, not always." When Rapture draws close, he murmurs softly, "Place your hand on my back, beneath my clothing, just for a moment."
[sblock=for Rapture, if she does so]She feels the marks of old scars from a whip-flogging.[/sblock]

Rapture places her hand on Keldar and nods. "That proves nothing, but perhaps we can speak later. Tis not the time for such discussions."

Rapture whispers something to Keldar.

[sblock=Keldar]"My scars are much more... intimate."[/sblock]

OOC: Flash Forward to Galwynn- home alone. Wearing nothing but boxer shorts, a necktie and some socks, he's partying it up with the locals. "i'm free!" he shouts, "I'm free!".

Just kidding.

***

Galwynn watches the rest of the group leave, and finds a place underneath a nearby tree. Making a little bit of an impromptu home, he leaves his claymore in the dirt nearby, and finds a kid to pick some stuff up for him in Grenton - a tent, a bedroll, some basic pots and pans, and some food.

He spends most of his time sitting in his tent, although he leaves every few hours, does a patrol around the tower, grumbling to Halina the whole time.

"I begin to understand that," says Keldar. "Those that can be seen fade with time, as others may not. Ah, Rapture, forgive me. I cannot stay angry with you."
