Notes on the Aether (Rae judging)

Actually, I didn't see that potion. Yeah, I can use the roll next, if that's alright.

Galwynn steps back, onto the stairs (SE of Keldar), takes the potion, and stays defensive. Can't drink it, or I'll provoke an AoO, though, so he'll move down the stairs a bit as a withdraw.

"Thanks, Keldar." he mumbles, while doing his best to hold his broken rib cage. It hurts with every breath!

OOC: From your position, you can step onto the stairs one square E of Earthie, where Earthie does not threaten. My fault that the map's not clear, but to speed things up I'm going to assume you'd rather do that.

Oh, and Galwynn got punched in the face, not the rib cage. Not that it matters, oocly speaking.

Galwynn takes potion the potion from Keldar (move), steps into the stairwell (free), leans up against the wall and eagerly drinks the potion (standard). (Roll your own healing roll, I refuse to be blamed for IC's wrath!) (4 damage healed)

Tommy urges Rapture forward (delays).

The earth elemental is not easily distracted. It keeps its focus on one opponent, and unfortunately for Galwynn, he's it. The living rock moves forward to reach around the stairwell. It plants its base firmly on the ground and wallops (23) him good in the torso. (10 damage) (Unless the potion heals 9 HP, Galwynn falls and is dying.)

Rapture steps up and slashes ineffectively at the last remaining fiery threat.

Tommy moves into her previous location and produces some butter from his pouch. He squishes it and throws it on the floor in front of him. The earth elemental collapses to the stone floor, crumbling partially. Its strewn pieces slowly gather back into a column. (E1 slips) The fire elementals seem unaffected, though one is still subdued and quivering in awe.

End of Round 2

Round 3

The two quivering fire elementals keep quivering.

The other one looks for an opening in the crowded hallway. It sees one in between Keldar and the fallen Galwynn. But as it pedals its fiery legs, it goes nowhere, and then it flops into a pile of flames. (Failed DC:10 balance check: 5)

Tarag...

Initiative:
Fiery2 (cowering) (7 damage)
Fiery3 (prone)
Fiery1 (cowering) (5 damage)
Tarag <--
Keldar
Galwynn (-9 + Healing potion + 4 = -5 HP)
Tommy
Earthie (prone)
Rapture

Cool. So, Galwynn's at, um. -5 hit points.

Swwwweeeeeeeet.

If anyone cares, his last words were "....what the...?"

OOC: Don't worry too much. My Rasereit was at -9, his rage was ending next turn, there was no cleric, and he still made it back. Galwynn is in a much better situation. =P

OOC: Damn these narrow stairways.

Solange, I think Rapture's attack did hit, since a cowering creature takes a -2 penalty to AC, and loses its Dex bonus to AC (which for a small fire elemental is +1), so its effective AC is 12! (It might be helpful if she were to move into its square then, because we're all jammed together at the moment. :heh: )

IC: Tarag yells out, "I can't reach Galwynn. You're going to have to move."

"Keldar, move out of the way - and for Chennet's sake, hit the bloody rock!"

"Tommy, use that wand of yours - we have to destroy the earth elemental. Then step back away from the fire elemental."

"Rapture, take out that fire elemental in front of you, then let me past."

"As soon as I move, the cowed fire elementals are going to be released, so be ready! I'm going to move past Rapture, when Keldar gives me room, and take a shot at the pile of rocks if it's still moving, or else try for one of the fires."

"One more thing. There's a scroll of Cure Light Wounds in my pack. If I go down, one of you might be able to use it to revive me, so that I can heal Galwynn."

"Chennet' guide and bless us!"

OOC: Delay until the others have had their turn. Now I really wish he hadn't stowed morningstar and shield - particularly as he didn't even get to take a shot! :(
