Why is stupid and rich people doing stupid things so funny?!?

it is the old "bigger they come, the harder they fall" theory. If Richard Hatch had never been on survivor and never won the million, nobody would have heard of him and nobody other than the IRS would care about him avoiding paying his taxes. However, when a 'celebrity' takes a fall, people notice.

Yeah, but this would probably be taxed differently than standard "earned income" wouldn't it? It's essentially winning on a game show.
