So what's up in your campaign?

Just started GMing a PBP involving Kobolds... and Dweibolds, a two-headed version of kobolds featured in Silverthrone Games Races of Evernor and available for free in the Five Free Races product over at RPGNow.com. (Though I've toned it down to make ECL +0)

Also involved in a number of PbPs. More about 'em later.

Last week, I finished off my Kerishan's Garden/Castle Briar homebrew remix, which ran into overtime.

My next adventure in the river of worlds campaign (which is discussed here) should finally take the players into the river of worlds. My plans for this session will probably end up being much different from my original conception, primarily because the PCs are obsessing much stronger on an original plot hook than I thought they would.

After last adventures, the PCs are wondering how to find the would be groom of the daughter of a noble house that they work for, having discovered that chaos legionnaires used a gateway used by the elven ships on their journey to the afterlife to facilitate a raid.

The PCs should be returning to their home port. To find a path to the river of worlds, the players will have to do a favor for a representative of the Memento Mori, who knows a thing or two about planar pathway. He knows that a particular item that showed up on the market came from the river of worlds, and if he can track down the sellers, they should have a key to the portal to the river of worlds (being the Yuan-ti) (My original plan was to have the players captured by OR pursuing Yuan-Ti slavers, but their obsession to find the elven groom prince has become a central motivation for them, so I thought I'd make the slavery bit a bygone.)

Eberron! Did Forgotten Forge 2 weeks ago, with a Warforged Fighter, a Human Artificer, and an Elf Wizard. They had a great time, and the encounters were well balanced, even for 3. Got to use the Warforged from the D&D pre-painted miniatures.

This coming Friday, Shadows of the Last War, with the addition of a Changeling Cleric. Should be a blast.

I'm running a modified Demon God's Fane.

The players are tracking down a dangerous Bane and evil nobleman from the Banewarrens that led them to a secluded lake village that is having problems with demons showing up anouncing the return of a demon lord, and villagers and a local graven one (magical order from Complete Book of Eldritch Might) sorceress becoming possessed by infectious demon insects and going murderously mad.

Just finished a combat with the possessed elven sorceress who summoned up a ton of fiendish beasties for the party to battle as she surprised and laid waste to the magical graven one community of elves, humans, and animen (from Mythic Races).

Took a while for the party paladin to figure out the animen were not evil trollocs from Wheel of Time but unpossesed graven ones (his first thoughts were they were demon cultists).

The party has the possessed elf grappled and in a protection from evil circle now so there will be some interrogation coming up and the lore of the graven ones on the demon situation will be revealed in due time.

The players should finish the Forge of Fury next week. They'll probably be only 3 players, so
I'm a little afraid concerning the fight with the dragon
, especially since the party is not very well balanced (monk, fighter, rogue, with cleric and illusionist backing them up (but not participating in fights)). I'd hate to see a TPK, since the players have made it clear that they really like their characters. Last session, the monk died to the
animated rug
, but I made it so he could be raised, because he was p*ssed.

As soon as Forge of Fury is done, we're getting into a slightly modified Speaker in Dreams.

Saturday night, we finished Totentanz from Dungeon #90 ... I've posted my thoughts on the scenario on the Paizo Dungeon board if folks are interested. The characters are still getting to know the lovely little podunk country of Bissel, and have had their first brush against the Big Campaign Villian(tm)'s forces. Little do they know that they will soon become swept up into the plans of Dark Forces to the East.

They've been given a message by the Baroness of Luzern to deliver to the Margrave of Bissel; this in turn should earn them the attention of the Knights of the Watch, who will be more than happy to make use of their particular skills. From here, it should start to get quite interesting! (In the Chinese sense of the word.)

PS: Oh! Oh! I meant to mention that the players encountered The Midnight Peddler from Tome of Horrors and were intrigued beyond words. I came up with some background info for him, which I revealed to them in drips and drabs during conversation, and now they're eager to meet him again. "Lifting the curse of the Midnight Peddler" may become a recurring campaign element!

(Yes, my youngsters have been obsessively playing Alladin since the DVD came out.)

 We haven't picked up the DVD, because our older tape is still in great shape, but that was pretty funny...

My campaign actually won't see any play in November; I'm taking a shortish break to get ready for my adventure at the Detroit Gameday, which I want to go well. Also, I was in the mood to play for a little while, so we'll get some Eberron action; one of the players in my group has a wife who also plays (although not in our normal group). She'll be the DM. We'll do the official adventures; the one from the CS, then the two actual modules out so far.

Then I'll pick up my game again in December sometime.
