November: What are you reading?

I made it about 2/3 of the way through Richard K. Morgan's The Steel Remains, but I came to the conclusion, I really didn't care about any of the characters or the world. I originally picked it up because I like Joe Abercrombie's The First Law Trilogy, but it didn't seem to have the same draw as Abercrombie's books.

So I put it down and started on C. J. Chiver's The Gun, which is well researched and quite interesting.

I'm currently reading The Kill Artist by Gabriel Allon. This is what Le Carre would write if he had a nervous breakdown. A very violent book about an ex-Mossad assassin. The story so far has a smooth flow. I like it.

Sounds interesting, I'll have to remember it.

Soon I Will Be Invincible - Austin Grossman

I wanted to read this one when it first came out, but it dropped off my radar. Thanks for the reminder.

I'm working on Shadowrun - Nigel Findley Omnibus I purchased for my new Kindle. I've already read 2XS and am currently on Shadowplay. I'm really enjoying the stories; I can't believe it took me 20 years to discover Shadowrun.

Just finished The Black Prism by Brent Weeks.

Absolutely loved it! I was a bit worried at first due to some obvious parallels to his first trilogy, the Night Angel series, but I'm happy to say that the similarities are quite superficial.

Some really surprising twists, and a really neat system of magic.

Can't wait for the next book in the series.

Working on the new WoT book now. About 1/3 of the way through, not bad at all. Sanderson's writing seems to be better.

Brad
