despite the name it's really a rogue prc. or maybe fighter/ranger, or straight ranger. but certainly not wizard. +5 fort?

well in my campaign, the players fought a group of ratmen who were spreading a plague and they delivered the antidote and stopped the plague. Now they are running through Of Sound Mind, and after this, they are going to run across a town that has been descimated by the plague and the local animals will have the corrupted template.

Im wanting a 1st story arc BBEG and i want something involving plagues.

plagues are cool... i want do a story line using people suspicious of a paladin because he is imune to the diesease...

but that doesn't stop you using a ranger based character (possibly one fo the ratmen?) who has taken the cancer mage class... it can still cast contagion and spread disease.

Don't know if you've seen/are already using this, but the WOTC site has a "plague carrier" template: http://www.wizards.com/dnd/article.asp?x=fr/pg20011219b

A cool Dungeon adventure with the plague theme is "Goblin Fever." You can use it as a follow up to "A Hot Day in L'Trel", too. Both very fun.

BoVD recommends Rogues, Rangers, Druids and Clerics. Personally, I think a Druid gone bad would be cool. The requirements aren't too tough to achieve, and you get the added bonus of Wild Shape, depending on the level of your campaign.

If you delve into older stories of Piratecat's story hour, they had some particularly nasty druidic bad guys at one point. Good stuff.
