??? I don't recall any such character from the original. Or are you somehow confusing the modern remake with the original original with Karloff? (For shame if you are!)
Yeah, the modern remake. I changed it in my original post. :p

Now here is one advantage to playing over OpenRPG. I can slip in a filter so that a different name tag comes up for each speaker, each speaker can be in a different color, and in a different font if I get really creative.

One of my players plays himself and his intelligent sword during the game. The PC is a 6 Int orc barbarian and the sword is a version of Blackrazor. It's been an absolute blast.

As a DM, I do try to limit the amount of talking to myself though. It's boring for the players.

This kind of thing was fantastic when I was part of a co-DM team. Sometimes we'd have bits that were absolutely hilarious like that (arguing friends or couple while the PCs are fighting to get a word in edgewise... use that bit judiciously, not too long).

This is what I do. Switch to third person seems like a natural thing to me when having NPCs speaking to each other.

Switch to third person, maybe. "The three goblins begin to argue over how best to cook you."
