NPCs & XP

Hello,

I want to create a few evil thieves (Essentials) to use in the campaign I'm DMing. But I can't locate anything in my Essentials books about how many XP a 3rd-level human thief is worth. Any help?

Note that NPCs generally are not built as through they were PCs. The DMG gives advice for creating NPCs based on the Player's Handbook class. DM Kit might have essentials versions, but I don't own it so I'm not sure.

You can build them with the same rules as a PC, but the often end up a hassle to run game.
