Nuke password reminder isn't sending the correct password!

I registered on the nuke based news site, but then had problems logging in. I asked it to send me the password via email, which it did, but if I attempt to use the password with my username it bails out, saying

"Incorrect login. Please try again..."

Any suggestions about what is going on here? The username I registered there is PlaneSailing (since it didn't allow spaces in the username).

Just a plain member here, but did you make sure that you spelled it just that way, including capitalization when you registered? Check the email that was sent with the password to make sure.

Yep, thoroughly checked the old capitalisation and spelling issues.

I even cut n pasted from the confirmation email to make sure.

Actually, I might be able to explain this...

I also just registered and tried to log into the news site. The first time I tried it, I did a copy and paste from the e-mail, and it failed. The second time, I succeeded.

The difference? The first time I highlighted lazily - from the left end of the password to the end of the word/line in the e-mail. The second time, I was more careful, and highlighted from the password from right to left - thus excluding either a space or an end-of-line character.

My guess is that the login is sensitive to that blank character to the right of the password, and less than perfect copy-paste will include it.

I'd say Umbran's right on here, particularly if you double-clicked on the password to highlight it. This typically highlights the word and a single space following it.
