Number of attacks?

In the monster manual it states that the first listed natural attack type for a given creature is its primary attack, and that all remaining attack types are considered secondary attack types. Taking the carrion crawler as an example, It states that it has 8 tentacles + 3 melee, bite -2. Now does this mean that a carrion crawler may roll 8 individual tentacle attacks per full attack action on a single target? and what if it chose to divide its 8 tentacles between multiple targets? can it do that?

As another example it lists the giant eagle as having 2 claws +7 melee and bite +2 melee. Does this mean you roll 2 individual claw attacks, or a single claw attack that is conisdered to be both claws at once? And again, can it choose to divide these 2 claw attacks (assuming it is able to roll individual claw attacks) between multiple targets?

I guess what im asking is, when a creature has an attack type listed as greater than 1 (ie. 2 claws as opposed to claw) does this mean it may roll individual attacks for each, or does it mean you roll a single attack which is considered to be both weapons hitting at once? Also, if it does mean it may roll individual attacks, can these be divided across multiple targets?

Every Attack is sacred.

When making a full attack action, you roll for each attack separately and they can split the attacks among multiple opponents.

With 2 claws at +3, it makes two seperate attack rolls each with a +3 on the hit. However, please remember that it may only make both claw attacks with a Full Attack Action.

What it is saying is if a creature can take a full attack (has not moved/flown/tunneled, etc.) more than its 5' move, then it gets all those attacks. If it moves and attacks as with any creature/player you only get your 1 attack at your best attack value.

What they said. Check MM page 7 where it says that the number preceding the type of attack (2 claws, for example) is the number of attacks.

Normally, if a monster or creature has multiple attacks, it can use them on multiple opponents if they are within reach. In the case of a carrion crawler, since it has an Int of 1, I would focus on one opponent unless another did some serious harm. This is what the combat text implies, IMO.
