[NWN] Getting the game to work on XP

I had this same problem and it was the installation of the NVIDIA drivers. I had to install the basic video card drivers (standard VGA), reboot, and when Windows prompted me for the latest drivers, I pointed it to the drivers I downloaded and extracted to my HD.

Good luck :)

I just wanna spit on you all... 1GHz systems... of course it's gonna run fine!

I'm running it on a 400 MHz system, not XP though. It's a little slow, but definitely playable.

I downloaded the latest detonator drivers, and it seems to work ok. When you removed the drivers, rebooted, and then re-installed the drivers, did you install the detonator drivers, or some other drivers?

As a confirm on the earlier one, note that the GeForce 4 *MX* cards are intended for 2D work such as spreadsheets and word processing. They are not for 3D (CAD, games, rendering).

Unfortunately, a lot of mainline computers from Dell, Gateway and the like will have MX cards, but the customer just sees the "GeForce 4" and thinks they're getting a card worth $200 more than they're paying...

Hmmm.... I'm not sure what the MX is designed for but, I have one PC with an MX and the other with a TI 4600. Other than the water, I can't see any difference.
