NWN - Interior doors leading outside (but rooms seen)?

Instead of making a generic doorway, look for special exit "features" in your terrain lists. These are tiles specially designed to look like transitions and not like a hallway to a next (non-existant) room.

For example, Door Inn makes a nice doorway (then you have to add a door).

let me explain the problem. I've seen it, but some folks don't seem to know what's going on.

The player is approaching a door that goes outside. What one sees beyond the door, however, is a darkened room. In spite of the illusion of the darkened room, the door still leads outside.

What seems to be happening is that the game interprets all interior doors as leading to rooms, but obviously the script on the door knows otherwise.

I'd suggest trying different door types to see if you get different results.

EDIT: Eric knows best in this case.

I still haven't tried...been playing today. Four us of playing via a direct connection...three LAN and one cable modem...now between 9-10th level each! Game works great! Will try door thing tomorrow...or I should say later today. :D

I just remedied the same problem I was having with an Inn set in a rural area. As I believe Eric was trying to say - don't use one of the coridoor exits to set up for your door. Use the Door Inn (from the Features set). Then place your door.

The door type doesn't matter. The only thing that made any difference (as far as I could see) was changing the doorway itself.

I no longer have the ghost rooms showing anymore. Hopefully this fixes your problem as well.
