NWN Persistent world that isn't an EQ clone

I'm looking for a persistent world NWN game that does not require a hakpack, has enough role-playing to make it interesting but is mainly plunderin n murderin, and is NOT another attempt at being the everlame EverQuest (mainly I mean no XP loss for death, repetitive action skill rules, "camping", and a general feeling that the players are always required to be playing).

I don't have a problem with perm-death worlds. I'd like to have find a persistent game that emulated D&D, not EQ, DAoC, and the like.

Can anyone help?

Two people playing the same game will get something different from it. Id suggest trying some and see what you think. Good luck.

Peace

That's just it.
I've tried over a dozen.
I can't seem to get away from hakpacks & EQ clones.
I'm hoping someone out there knows of one I'm looking for.

Haven't really seen anything spectacular, but I only have the gold edition, and most of the servers seem to run games with HotU. The number of non-HotU PWs seem to be pretty small, and of the ones I tried, I really haven't found one that was great. A lot of them seem to want to emulate a MMORPG, but I don't really think that's the right angle for NWN. The servers just don't have enough players to pull it off for one. Second, D&D just plays differently than MMORPGS (even if there is a d20 version of Evercrack), and that's pretty clear when you hit a module that tries very hard to be one.

Another problem I have are with encounters, some of these mods have killer encounters with something like 4 or more monsters that have a CR equal to my characters' level or higher, and most of the time they kill me. Like the time my 8th level fighter ran into 4 ogre mages by himself (and got promptly slaughtered). Sometimes the encounter balances are horrible.
