I'm Thinking of doing a one shot d20 Modern session in the classical D&D 3rd edition vain...
Players will create level 4 characters and meet at a local Nightclub/Bar. The Bartender asks them to track down someone for them who's gone missing in the abandoned tunnels of NYC.
What begins is a small Dungeon Romp when they come across some old closed off hidden tunnels underneath the nightclub.
The deeper they go, the more "stranger" the encounters get! At first they will battle crazy homeless people, hordes of rats, etc...
Eventually they will hit a junction thats a point of no return, and Must battle Vampiric Were-rats, and try to survive.
I was thinking of this: If they survive and see the tunnels all the way through, They come across a Fetid giant River that seems to travel into some dark fog.
A tiefling guide in a canoe offers them a ride down the Fetid river. They realise that they are on the river Styx, and the Tiefling is taking them across it.
If the Players like it, then I'll start a campaign across the planes, maybe some alternate history earth, or a strange planescape type campaign.
What do you guys think?
