NYC Gameday (Tentatively Sat 9/13 10am)

oh, please note that i have to ask for the day off 2 weeks in advance. If this falls apart and I end up not working, hence not making money to pay rent. I'll be...very discouraged.

Please lets make this work and make the day worth it for me and everyone.

I would love to go, as I live in Suffolk County (N. Babylon to be exact) but unfortunately I have to work that day. Hope you all enjoy and I will be up for future game days for sure!

Ok The Gameday will be

Saturday September 14th, 4pm, at Neutral Ground in NYC.

Why the late start? Our Chicago Gamedays start at 9am, and go until 9pm, or when Thalmin wants us to go home. :)

There's no way you could start anything at NG at 9 on a Saturday because a)They open at 10 and b)They only open at 10, instead of at 12, as usual, to let in the horde to Magic players to start one of their bigger weekly tournaments, and it's physically impossible to find a table for gaming. Saturday at NG doesn't strike me as the best idea... Crowded and noisy as all hell.

Although I think I'll probably still try to stop by...

Yeah, I kinda fingured that was the case. Too bad, really - though what time do they closr? And if it's earlier than 10pm or so, would they stay open a little later for us? Probably not, but you never know - how well do your know the owners, ArthurQ?.

Failing that, is there a comperable gamestore elsewhere in the area that might be able to hold a bunch of RPGers? Since I've just moved out here, I unfortunately have no constructive recommendations...

I know the owner well enough to have an open dialog with him. All the times i'v been at NG on the weekend its beene specially quiet. As far as I know NG closes at midnight.

There are only 2 other stores for gamers in nyc. The Complaet Strat and Forbidden Planet.

Neither realy have room. The Compleate strat has a single table in a back room, its cramped and uncomfortable.

FobiddenPlanet has a second floor with a few tables but its very very hot and impossible to breath there.

NG is the best choice in NYC from mypersonal experience.

The hours on saturday at 10am - 1am. I just checked on the website. I can email the owner later today and let him know about ENworld Gameday to see what he can arrange for us if you all like.

The main reason I want to hold this on the 13th is that it coincides with dnd.meetup.com and that months dnd meetup so we'll be able to meet more people to possibly attract to ENworld.
(Plus I cant take 2 days off to do both, I'm hoping to kill 2 birds with one stone.)

We can always meet elsewhere at 9am or 10am and then head to NG later in the afternoon.

Elmont.

and Arthur, I'm in. I'll even run something.

The way P-kitty handled the Boston Gameday was to start hawking what games would be run and let people sign up, since he's such a popular GM we should probably send "a coupla guys" to Boston and "Kitnap" him for this... although at the Boston gameday, it was Doc Midnight's now infamous Feng Shui game that was the big draw (including the swashbuckling feline as a player in fact).

So I'll be runing a Pirate adventure that I'll create just for the occasion, have we contacted NG yet to see what the deal is?

I emailed matt about it, so far no reply. I'd im him but he HATES getting IM's about work.

I plan to run an RPGA Sanctioned Green Regent Adventure after work things out with the RPGA website. I'm getting problems overthere....

If anyone else wants to contact Matt, owner of NG the email is
