Oassassin?

The O-Assassin or Ossassin is the original assassin released in Dragon Magazine #379, rather than the "Essentials Assassin" released later in Heroes of Shadow (the Executioner). The executioner was released a few months before Heroes of Shadow in Dragon, as I recall, and was sometimes called the E-Assassin for Essentials Assassin.

That's kind of silly. People don't say the OFighter, they just say Fighter, vs. Knight or Slayer. Why not just say Executioenr?

Wasn't there a 3rd build for the Assassin that wasn't the Executioner? I could've sworn there was another one that came out with the MC feats update.

Well, with fighter, you can say Weaponmaster Fighter. There's no easy equivalent for Assassin, which could lead to confusion in some cases. Well, I've heard Shroud Assassin, but this is the Internet - Ossassin is easier. Until there's an official name for the non-essentials Assassin, people will call it that.

O stands for Original, I believe.

And no, there wasn't. I've heard there was going to be a Ninja build later this year in DDI, along with the other Kara-Tur stuff, but that may have actually been a Monk build... I don't quite remember.

I think it was because when the playtest for the Executioner came out it was called Assassin as well, then they started calling it the Executioner.

Heh. I felt that the Oassassin was pretty ninja-like. At least, it would be easy to get that flavor with the right power selection and attitude.

Kara-Tur stuff? Man, I am so out of date...

WotC announced at GenCon that they would be doing some Kara-Tur stuff on DDi later this year.
