The book: "The Wizard in Waiting", by Robert Don Hughes (good series, BTW; "The Prophet of Lamath" is the 1st one).
The question: Near the end of the book, the main character plays a board game that is a 3-person chess-like game... chess-like in the sense that there are different types of pieces moving around, at least. The recent thread on 3-Dragon Ante got me thinking about this as a suitable 'in character' game that might fit into a typical D&D setting. Unfortunately this is one of the books that is at my parents' in Texas, not here with me in California -- hence, I'm unable to get very far with developing the tidbits of play in the book into an actual game to use in my campaign.
Any kind soul have the book & a bit of time to kill scanning the relevant passage for names of pieces & any hints given about their movement?
