Occult Lore is off to press!

I've got a setting coming up (Dec. or Jan at best guess) that could use the stuff in Occult Lore

(John, do you think we could work out a trade?)

Hi John,

How much of this book is a d20 adaptation of the Ars Magica book The Mysteries? Many of the ideas sound similar (secret astrological inception, alchemy, dream magic, and so on), and as The Mysteries is probably my favorite RPG book ever, I'm greatly looking forward to Occult Lore.

Sharp eye. ;-) You'll recognize Adam Bank, co-author of the Mysteries, on Occult Lore's list of authors. He wrote the chapters on Alchemy, Astrology and Magical Imagination; I really liked the ideas in the Mysteries, too, and thought it would be great to adapt them under D20 rules, so we were delighted when Adam accepted our invitation to contribute. I wouldn't call it a straight adaptation, but it's definitely drawing from the same source material.

The dream magic was written by Keith Baker. We invited him to write it because I really liked his treatment of dream magic in Over the Edge (described in "Dreaming on the Verge of Strife," one of the chapters/adventures in the collection Forgotten Lives).

iiiiinteresting

I have been so pleased with the Penumbra products I already have that I must go to my local gameshop and pre-order this now!
