You know, I don't see a lot of October themed stuff on there. That's one thing I liked about Paizo Dragon: October issues are Dark themed, June is dragon-theme month.

That's a tradition that goes back to the old days of TSR, actually; I've got Halloween-themed issues of DRAGON going back to #114.

Of course she's popular. She's the EmoGoth chick. Oh, and the only non-evil god with pretty much ANY characterization or development past a bare cardboard cutout. Her lore, by virtue of *existing*, is naturally the most engaging and exciting.

Whereas, yeah, most of my ideas about, say, 4e Corellon I stole from 1e-3e's Corellon Larethian, an only vaguely compatible god who doesn't outside of some shallow surface similarities have much of anything in common with 4e's Corellon. As far as we know. Maybe they're exactly alike other than an alignment change(And gods know most of what little is written about him makes him sound like he wants to be Chaotic Good but can't because it doesn't exist anymore). We'd never know at this point.

Gods help me if I wanted to worship Avandra. Or Melora. Or Sehanine.

I honestly can't even NAME all of the PHB gods, because most of them are so undeveloped and generic there's nothing to remember about them.

But I'm cranky and I hate the Raven Queen and I'm sick to death of hearing about her, which is a major cause of hating her. OK, we get it, DEATH. Sehanine Moonbow was a cooler death god(CG death gods for the win), and I didn't even care for her that much.

To me the Raven Queen is like Pluto/Hades. Perhaps not evil, but anyone who would worship and serve her strikes me as questionable. A proper man serves Zeus or Apollo and looks for an Elysian reward.

I agree, womeonw would have to be twisted in some fundamental way to be really on close terms with the Raven Queen. Hard to equate a beleif in pure fate with the adventuring life. YEs, it is possible to think that when your time is up your time is up, but even success would seem a bit tainted, like it was destined to happen even if you screwed the pooch.

So speculation on a Ravenloft adventure in this month's Dungeon? I'm going to guess it's Eye of Justice (marked for Oct. 19th), maybe relating to the old Vistani 'evil eye', which is also my bid for a racial power involving the hampering of luck.

OK, is there anyone else in this thread unsure of Nai_Calus's feelings on the Raven Queen?

No?

Good. We can move on.

Oh, sorry, didn't know I wasn't supposed to reply to things in cases where it might annoy you. I'll refrain from expressing my opinions on things in the future. :hmm:
