Psion
Adventurer
Yes Virginia, spoilers follow
I just finished running it Friday. My PCs never picked up on the fact that they needed to use the bell to break the stone. I thought they were in for some serious trouble. Finally, one of the players put two and two together, though.
Getting to the town and facing the dominated townfolk was a lot of fun. The wizard who concentrated too much on spells like color spray and sleep and too little on damaging spells finally earned his keep.
As I mentioned in an earlier thread, this campaign is my wife's first. She really got a kick out of using her cleric in this adventure. She was smart enough, after the party realized that the stone could charm or dominate them, to take protection from evil as a spell. This saved they day after she was able to cast it on the party's halfling rogue (who was carrying the stone) after he got dominated. Being able to play such a pivotal role in saving the day really made her day.
(I'll also take this moment to point out that Green Ronin's Pocket Grimoires are great for new players who take on the challenge of playing spellcasters; she used it as a handy reference to figure out what her spells do without having to sift through quite as many spells as the PHB.)
