D&D General Official Campaign Setting Roll Call

Which campaign setting have you used (DM or player)?

Which of these official campaign settings have you ever actually played/DMed a campaign in? (Bonus points if you want to describe the experience in the thread below.)

(Sorry if the list is incomplete, I'm just working from a few online lists and my aged memory.)

Edit: How did I forget Ravenloft?!! I have included it now.

Council of Wyrms (Player) - Played when it was first released for a few games. It was fun in a novelty kind of way, but not something we ever played again.

Dragonlance (Player) - For a friend's campaign who adored the setting (I never much cared for it beyond the War of the Lance novels).

Forgotten Realms (Player & DM) - I run all my games in the Realms in various regions (Sword Coast, Amn, Tethyr, The Great Dale, Cormyr, Moonsea area, Western Heartlands, Vilhon Reach are the areas I've used repeatedly in Faerun, with brief sojourns to other areas).

Forgotten Realms: Kara Tur (Player & DM) - Mostly DM, we've played a LOT in Kara Tur (as local characters or Faerunian travellers or mix of both). Would love to see a storyline set there (along with some player options)...would be the first storyline product I'd buy from WotC...but none of us are holding our breath, especially after the recent furor over OA.

Greyhawk (Player) - Detest this setting, but it was the first setting I played in when I first started playing D&D. Didn't hate it when I started playing, but over time I came to find it so utterly boring compared to all the other settings available (once I started DM'ing around the mid 90's).

For Mystara you might want to note it also includes Hollow World; and Known World should be tacked on to one of it or Blackmoor.

What I've hit:

Greyhawk as player. Not my favourite setting but at least I can say I've been there. :)

Mystara/Known World as player. DM based his world on the foldout map in Isle of Dread, which later became Mystara.

FR-Sword Coast as DM. On the 1e box-set maps I took out everything north of Waterdeep and west of Anauroch and replaced it with homebrew, but used FR for the rest of the setting. They went to Waterdeep often enough, and once or twice down to Baldur's Gate and out to the Moonshaes (which I moved north so they were offshore from Waterdeep).

FR-Other Areas as DM. Ditto; in that same campaign they went further afield to the east. Some bits I homebrewed, some I left as is.

For me, strictly FR but I have EVERYTHING, from Eberron, to Mists of Akuma's Soburin replacing Kara-Tur, and Greyhawk, and stuff all part of the same world but on different spots on the globe.

Toril is one HUGE planet.

I've done a campaign in Greyhawk, a few in Ravenloft, played once in Dragonlance, a few trips to Spelljammer, numerous planar jaunts, Mystara in the very beginning, and countless campaigns in Forgotten Realms .Dark Sun I ran and played in back in 2e. I actually found my character sheet from when I was a player (and yes, my handwriting was and is terrible):

Of the ones I haven't played, I would love to run a Birthright campaign one day, and as I read through Theros I'm really digging the Greco-Roman Gods-heavy vibe.

This is a cool approach. I’ve seen it done before (though not necessarily Toril) and I like it a lot.
