Official names for Arctic and Plains regions?

First Post
Please help me build a list of all the official region names for Arctic and Plains regions.

I want this because I'm writing a script the converts the feats index pdf at www.crystalkeep.com into a pcgen data set and came across some prerequisites like "Raised in a plains environment". I'd like to make the data set as generic as possible so I'm including all the region names in the prerequisite.

So far, here's what I've got (thanks for the postings). Oh yeah, I'm looking for regions from any of the books, not just Eberron and Faerun.

Arctic
eberron: Everice, Frostfell
faerun: Damara, Great Glacier, Narfell, the North, Silver Marches, Sossal, Vaasa
greyhawk: the Barren Wastes, Ice Barbarians, Land of Black Ice, Stonehold

Plains
eberron: Darguun, the Demon Wastes, Drooam, the Talenta Plains, Valenar
faerun: Shaar, the Shining Plains
greyhawk: Dry Steppes, Plains of the Paynims, Rovers of the Barrens, Tiger Nomads, Wolf Nomads, Zeif
rokugan: Lion lands, Unicorn lands

I see you're talking about setting specific names. From the thread title I was thinking geographic names. Just in case.

Artic: Tundra, taiga.

Plains: flatlands, rolling plains.

Note that tundra and taiga are as much defined by their ground cover as by their topography. Plains are described more by their topography, thus they can be covered by anything from widely scattered plant life, to extensive forests (as in the North German Plain).

Hope this helps

I've always liked taiga.

Other plains would include prarie, veldt.

I recognise that this isn't really what you are after, but wanted to contribute in some fashion ;)

Plains:

North America: Prairie
Russia: Steppe
Africa (?): Veldt

All three refer to the exact same type of biome: a temperate grassland.

Arctic:

tundra: sparse vegitation, often 'above' the treeline, permafrost year-round

taiga: a common name for boreal (ie: northern) forests of pine, etc

muskeg: the sub-arctic bogs, sometimes referred to as seasonal swamps as during winter they often freeze solid (at least on the surface)

Note that sometimes one refers to Taiga and Muskeg, while at other times I have heard / read Boreal Forest / Taiga (with the latter referring to the seasonal swamp lands)

Thanks for the suggestions. I appreciate the generic names, but am more interested in the names of regions from campaigns, such as the examples I gave from Eberron and Faerun.
