Official non-raging barbarian variants?

Mmm... that's one of the things I've been thinking of, if just for the favored enemy (archery won't really be a good idea, given a Dex of 7).

Nyambe has the gamba fighter, who is sort of halfway between fighter and barbarian (no rage). I think you'd be much better off going straight psion and picking up an armor feat if needed rather than including some fighter-type class. On the other hand, there is nothing wrong with playing a standard barbarian and not raging. I played a barbarian who was the best fighter in the party and he never raged. Not that I planned never to rage, it just never came up.

You want armour and hit points? Get Inertial Armor, Force Screen, Vigor. 3 1st-level powers, augmentable till kingdom come. No hassle with XP penalties, no manifester level lost.

Improved Toughness would be a decent feat choice, if you want even more HP.

Viola. Incidentally, having rolled on the tables there, my char has vulnerability to sonic and electricity resistance 10.

Wow. I've never seen such a wide range in stat modifiers. -8 to Dex, and +8 to Con!? I take it you don't want to take this template if your rolled Dex is 8 or less, huh?

The feeding rule seems underspecified. What happens if you don't eat your body weight in organic material every day?

Are half-oozes aberrations?

They're oozes. As for non-feeding, I'm not sure, but it's probably ability damage. Oh, and I rolled rather good stats--especially given that my final Dex was 7...

Of course, his personal survival roll ought to be rediculously easy in areas with lots of vegitation - it's just organic matter, no listed need for a particular type.

If survival rolls aren't desireable (due to the low-speed travel, perhaps, or a desert environment), then pick up lots of feed. At 5 cp/10 lbs, a 150 lb ooze costs 75 cp, or 7.5 sp, or .75 gp per day to feed.

Firewood might also suffice, at 1 cp per 20 lbs, for 8 cp to feed a 150 lb half-ooze each day.

Compare to trail rations at 5 sp/day/person.

Weight could very easily be an issue, however, so you will want to pick up a heavy horse (200 gp each) or two and a cart (15 gp) or wagon (35 gp) and some ranks in Handle Animal to deal with the weight. Portable Holes (20,000 gp) are also a good idea, if a tad pricy (no listed weight limit, but a volume limit).

Of course, while actively adventuring, you can devour fallen opponents. Hmm... can you devour live opponents that way? Scary attack, that.
