[OGCS] What happened to Tempest?

I uploaded the climate zone map (with changes per Nellisir's spec) but didn't create any links to the .svg file format. You can get to it from the "manage space" link.

Thanks!

I can't promise when I will get around to it, but it should be possible for some nice effects. You can see some of my first efforts in that direction with another map here.

I went back and looked at the old thread but it cuts off after 12/25/05. There was a bunch of discussion about the cosmology and renaming the mountain ranges. I don't suppose anyone remembers any of that?

Hrm. I think I advanced the idea of the "Underdark" (which had a different name), shading into the Plane of Shadow, and then the lower/evil outer planes. Going upwards brought one into the Astral/Plane of Radiance, and thence the upper/good outer planes. Going "outwards" was the Ethereal plane, linking to the elemental planes and other material concepts, and going "inwards" took one to Faerie, the planes of dream and madness, and other "intelligent" concepts.

Also, spellcasters developed their own demiplanes via such spells as rope trick.

I'm still fond of the ideas, but it's a bit complex. It'd be nice to slim it down.

As far as the mountains -- I like the names as they are.

Maybe we should just put all the material for Tempest to Eruvian.Com?

That would give the setting some greater exposure, introduce it to some new people, and allow developers to post requests for specific types of content. And Eruvian.Com already has the option of flagging material as Open Gaming Content, so it we could maintain the whole setting in its free and open form...

What do you think?

No problem. It certainly can't turn activity on it down...
