Rumor has it that the engine used for HL2 looks better, and runs almost twice as fast as the Doom 3 engine.

I believe they said they where getting 70fps on a 1.7Ghz system with a Geforce 3.

Of course, this is just rumor at this point, but I bet it has ID biting their fingernails.

I'll be interested to see if there's any truth to this. I've got to stay on the skeptical side of things. I mean ... John Carmack.
