Okay, now I'm worried...

It has been stated before in the other thread about this but the 4th season of Encounters materials for organizers states that the Class Compendium has been delayed and will not be available in time for the 4th season.

I think it just said that it would not be available, with no further explanation as if that meant that it was delayed, or cancelled, or was being rewritten because of "that incident with Abhoth at the company picnic".

I think people should really take a stand when a company pulls something like this. I was in a similar situation with Fading Suns. They implied that they would continue to bring out material, and then, suddenly the line ended. I mean, WTF? I bought every single product for the line and then this?

I thought that this called for a tough yet firm decision, so i stopped buying the stuff that didn't come out anymore. That'll teach them.

Who's the 'they'? Holistic Design, the original publisher?

Maybe you already know this, but Fading Suns, like Earthdawn has found its new home at Redbrick. I think they've also released (and continue to release) new material.

I don't know about Fading Suns, but they've done an excellent job revising Earthdawn.

Yes. If Wizards stops publishing, I'll boycott them!

:D

But my character is on their on-line servers! If they turn them off, how will I level up? Will I chisel my character into a stone tablet like some caveman!?!?
No, that would be downright savage. I think that most gaming groups would have a problem with it, too. You get all that rock dust, noise, and crumbs all over the floor. You may, however, have to settle for scratching it into a dead tree.

Or use a different online sheet.

Apparently there was a guy who knew a guy who works at WotC who told him that those products removed from the product calander are being delayed until the Summer. So now you know of a guy who read a post from another guy who new a guy who worked at WotC so it's pretty official!

In all seriousness, my guess (and yes that's all it is) would be that WotC looked at their projected release schedule, looked at the current state of those projects, and then decided they were not convinced that they could release them at the previously stated time. As such, they decided to remove them from the listing until they could get a more definitive date. Basically they were left with three choices: a) leave the announced release schedule as is, then miss the deadline, b) leave the schedule as is and then publish a product that was unfinished and unpolished that required at least some notable errata, c) alter the "published" release schedule.

Option A causes outrage amongst the customer base.
Option B causes outrage amongst the customer base.
Option C causes outrage amongst the customer base.

So there you go.
