Old D&D Minis

Lapdog said:
Well, it looks as if I've found an answer to my own question.

Looks like a company called Noble Knight Games still carries some of the 3rd edition D&D miniatures.

Thanks to everyone for the input.
When I looked at their site, the WOTC minis they had available were the new collectibles, not the old "3e" minis.
:\

For some reason Noble Knight has the older WOTC minis grouped together under the "TSR, Inc." section. Go here and you can find a link for the 3rd edition minis, Chainmail minis, and older.

Yeah.

I'm familiar with Reaper's kobolds, and was going to pick some up if I couldn't find 3rd edition kobolds. They're pretty good looking, but with more "dog-like" bodies than lizard like.

The Hackmaster minis look fair to me. (Just my opinion). The paint jobs displayed are quite of shifty in my opinion, and kind of obscure the quality of the models themselves.

I'm just being picky, I guess. To me, the 3rd edition Kobolds just look cooler, with armor, and well-modeled bodies and heads. They not cartoonish-looking, and seem to exude a nasty temperment. :D

Oh, that's just GREAT! Thanks SOO much for pointing that out! I went to look and ended up blowing $75 on old TSR & Chainmail minis!

...My wife is going to murder me. ;)

I just had to post to say that Noble Knight Games is a first class operation! I ordered on Friday morning, received order confirmation AND shipping confirmation within a few hours. The figs arrived (WI to MD) on Monday! Everything was well packaged and arrived in great shape. Not to mention their online store also tracks inventory and lets you know when an item is out of stock while you are still shopping! A nice touch, I thought.

So... What did you end up buying? :) I love living vicariously through other peoples purchases!

Too much! ;)

1* Chainmail Bugbear Trooper
3* Chainmail Hobgoblin Fighters
1* Chainmail Ogre Trooper
3* Chainmail Orc Berserkers
1* Chainmail Orc Trooper
1* Chainmail War Ape
1* WOTC D&D Celestial Eagle
1* WOTC D&D Dire Rat
1* WOTC D&D "Monsters III" box set. Contains: Hill Giant, Orc Berserker & Goblin Scout (the orc & goblin are the same sculpts as the Chainmail figures by the same name).

All in all, it cost $75 (price & shipping). Everything was either Mint or Shrinkwrapped Mint.

I don't get to buy any more minis for a leetle while, I think. :)

That's a whole lot of painting! Post some of them when you get them finished. ;)

It'll be a while before any of that box gets painted, I'm hip-deep in painting a bunch of orcs, trolls & a Balrog for a Moria scenario & I just found out my FLGS is having a Reaper painting contest I want to enter. You have to buy & register the fig from them during March and have it ready by April 24, though. My first attempt at competition painting, whee! :D In the mean time, I've got some other WOTC/Chainmail minis in my gallery already (see sig for link).

(I'm really looking forward to painting that Bugbear, though :) )
