WHAT?! No love for the bad boys of the 1980's? What about...

Elkhorn
Kelek
Mercion
Perelay/Melf
Ringlerun
Strongheart
Warduke
Zarak
Northlord

When Dugeon released stats for Warduke, I knew I had to stat up Kelek and Zarak to be his partners in crime. Haven't gotten around to it yet, but some day soon players everywhere will rue the day they mocked the 80's D&D villains.

my link above has the 2E PHB iconics covered. ;)

i think there was an elf in a Black Sabbath song called Sweetleaf. Ozzy really loved him for some reason. ;)

Ahem, actually Geezer Butler wrote the lyrics.

Tony Iommi and Geezer tended to visit with Sweetleaf before their shows. She had a way of 'mellowing' them out. :)

~ Redouleent the Prestidigitator (1e DMG, p. 39)

~ Party A: Aggro the Axe (4th level fighter), Abner (5th level m-u), Arkayn (4th level cleric); and Arlanni (2nd level thief).

~ Party B: Gutboy Barrelhous (6th level dwarf fighter); Balto (1st level monk); Blatum (4th level m-u); and Barjin (4th/5th level half-elf fighter/m-u). (1e DMG, p.71)

Damn! And me, at school, without my DMG to post the three names in the example of buying a spell! Damn! The two mages has impressive names.
Which I might adopt--wizards always have impressive sounding names IMC...

Falstaff the Fighter

Don't forget Angore the Cleric and Filmar, Mistress of Magic!

(aka, Bob and Mary from the office)

Other luminaries from the OAD&D core books include Olaf Blue-cheeks (a 10th level Lord), his henchman Thirgru Thorkisen, Magician, Halfdan the Necromancer (Olaf's associate), Celowin Steelshield (whose associate was petrified by a cockatrice), Llewellyn ap Owan (a Wizard of high repute), Tregilish Mul ("Mull the Lackwit", lofty Llewellyn's Warlock henchman), Gonzo the 9th level Ranger, and my particular favourite, Razisiz, the terrible blue dragon whose breath weapon brings death to a clumsy fighter...

Rupert the half elf! From the 2nd ed AD&D book! He was with Delsenora and Rath. I've actually been using old names for NPCs lately. Rath happens to be a one armed dwarven bartender with an unknown past.
