Old edition "signature characters"

I dunno, but I've been very tempted to either play a character named Blackleaf, or even include one in one of my published books. :D

look at the rogues gallery under the One True Game thread. Olgar Shiverstone rolled up a Blackleaf for the campaign. :D

We loved that Crew:)

We thought it was shame the Black Dougla bit the dust as quickly as he did. He had the second coolest name:)

Wow! Vague memories drifting forth here - he died from a poison needle trap, didn't he? The inevitable end of all D&D/AD&D1 thieves....

I'm annoyed that somebody beat me to Fonkin Hoddypeak (an elf, I believe, from the GDQ series).

"Borg" - the Fighter character on the sample character sheet in the char-gen section of Moldvay Basic.

"Ulo Ironbeard" (dwarf), "Kras Tree-tall" (fighter), "Theodorus the Wise" (M-U), "Nimble Deantha" (thief) and "Rothgar the Mighty" (fighter with high Charisma) from chapter 4 of the Cook Expert booklet. They starred in the example of organizing a party for an overland expedition.

Cool points for whoever can tell us what special preparations had to be made for Ulo Ironbeard (without looking)! :D

Without looking, getting a mule instead of a horse for him?

Already beaten, but Tregillish Mul has to be the second coolest NPC name I have encountered. The first, of course, is Haffrung Helleyes from the old Dark Tower module.

Lest I forget: 2e had its own set, too. Rath the dwarf fighter (He of the Sucky Stats), Cwell the Fine, Delseonora the wizardess... maybe others I forgot.

darn you. you beat me to it. Bargle....killing the hot cleric.....

Yeah. He's actually 14th level and allied with the Black Eagle Barony according to the Gaz series, but he has a 2nd level cousin with the same name who rips you off in Ierendi.
