Old Games That Should Be Remade

I would vote for virtually all of the (now defunct) Bullfrog games. That is:

Syndicate (or Syndicate Wars);
Dungeon Keeper (or Dungeon Keeper 2);
Populous (or Populous The Beginning);
etc.

Although these games aren't really old... I would love to see the Baldur's Gate games and Planescape: Torment remade using the Temple of Elemental Evil engine, which would allow for turn-based combat and implimentation of the 3.5e rules.

Battletech: The Crescent Hawk's Inception.

I played the heck out of this on my old C64. It came with a 25mm lead miniature of a Phoenix Hawk mech.

One old title that I think should be brought back would be M.U.L.E. Anyone else besides me remember that little gem from the C64 days?

Yep, that was a good game! The fact that screwing the other players over too hard would cause the entire colony to fail was a nice touch.

There used to be a version that someone had converted for use on a 386 in the not quite so way back when. If you can run Dos games and can find it out there it might be worth looking into. (I couldn't get it to run... :()

The Auld Grump who also liked the Adventure Construction Set... I had it on the Amiga....

I'd love to see the old Auto Duel game from the Apple II remade as a nice 3D Console game. I used to love playing that game.

I wouldn't mind seeing remakes of the Bard's Tale series of games. They were a hell of a lot of fun.

I would love to see some of the old Ultima games remade.

I know there are others, but I'm having trouble remembeing them now. :) Oh just remembered one. Wasteland the game that unofficially inspired Fallout. :)

That and Battletech: The Crescent Hawk`s Revenge might really be interesting. :)

I remember 2 games I loved to play and I would like to have a remake:
Deathtrack: A racing simulations, where you would drive armored and weaponed cars. Basically you had two ways to win: Drive fast, or "kill" everybody else. (and you could get extra money if you killed certain drivers during the race). It was fun.

TIE Fighter: It was the based Starwars Combat Simulation, at least until now. I loved to follow the storyline, and the different ways of promotion were nice.
And I loved to fly those weak TIE Fighters (but, admittedly, also the stronger TIE Advanced, Defender or Missible Boat)

I would suggest Final Fantasy 2 (US Version)
Champaions of Krynn (Computer)
The other many D&D games made SSI back in the day. :)

Shh! After the recent Pool of Radiance debacle, I'm not so sure I want anyone to remake anymore of the old SSI games. I'd like to see Final Fantasy 2 though, provided that they didn't add any of the supposed cuteness and very annoying angst that seems to be a part of most of those stupid games nowadays.

Wouldn't mind seeing Birthright being remade though. The only game I've ever played that was part turn-based strategy, part 3D dungeon crawl. There was even a simple war game in there too! Too bad about all the bugs, the really difficult adventures, and what's by now pretty faded graphics...

Rogue and Nethack! :D

Seriously, I agree with the Fallout Series, X-COM and TIE Fighter.

I would add the Steel Panthers series of games, updated to current technology.
