There was also Advanced Dungeons & Dragons, Second Edition. "Advanced" on its own, bolded or otherwise, doesn't say which system it's for, thus my question.
AD&D had two editions, both of which are "old school" relative to the modern era.

I respectfully disagree. The module in question, however, is definitely 1st edition Advanced Fantasy Roleplaying Game compatible, in stats, spirit and whatnot.

I preordered mine. :) I've always liked Rob's work (Maure Castle/Mordenkainen's Fantastic Adventure, Dark Druids, Maze of Zayene, et cetera -- his recent Dark Chateau for C&C is good, too).

Additional Comment: As far as the "Advanced" label and compatibility, I'd say 2E is close enough to 1E in rules that it wouldn't make any real difference, as far as using the module. It would also be trivial to use it with C&C or Hackmaster, and pretty easy to use it with any variation of classic D&D (original, B/X, BECMI/RC). I doubt it would be difficult to use it with 3E, either, although there might be more conversion work necessary if there isn't a direct drop-in replacement version of a given monster.

Considering there are still edition fights between fans of the two systems, I suspect it's not an academic question to a lot of people. It would be nice if the code words spelled out which it's supposed to be, or if it's generic stats that won't be specific enough to line up with either one more than the other.

Won't both you and Rob be in attendance (as well as guests of honor) at the second annual Lake Geneva Gaming Convention on June 9th thru 11th next month? If so, I hope to see you there. And also if so, are there any other details you can give us about this fairly new convention?
Indeed:)

Rob and I will be at the LGGC as will quite a number of other authors and artists. It's east to see all at the event, as most of it is in one big room, and we all hand out therein a lot. The event is only in its second yearm small, limited to about the first 175 or so persons that attend, for the gaming space at the Cove is limited, and Troll Lord Games the sponsor of the convention, prefer to keep it informal and intimate. Of course that's why I am so very fond of it!

Cheers,
Gary

Forgive the small threadjack, but cripes. I live about an hour or so away (to the west, between Beloit and Monroe), but will be in the Dells that weekend :(.

You live around Footville? Better than Tiffany or Shopier  I used to live between Clinton and Beloit on County P. Now if you were planning to be in New Glarus that weekend I might understand.

Likely there will be more LGGCs coming, so keep an eye open for news of same.

Betcha being in the Dells with all the tourists will be really charming...

J/K,
Gary
