Oldboy (potential spoilers)

A Wicked Kendragon
I just saw Oldboy.

Great imagery, absolutely brilliant actors, a highly intriguing plot that kept me hooked from start to end...

...and the worst &@#&¤#& "WHY" that I have ever seen in a movie! All _that_ because of something so stupid and insignificant that it ruined the whole film for me.

Oldboy also gets from me the 'Most F'd Up Villain In A Movie' award. Not because of the what, but because of the why.

That's part of the fun.

Really, I love Oldboy. All of it.

But the Punisher (Thomas Jane) in an Oldboy-remake (as I've recently read about somewhere)? I'm not quite sure about that - is Jane hooked on revenge or what?

Well, it is a very good movie.

It's just that after the revelation by the villain I felt like if Darth Vader has said "Luke, I'm your car dealership representative!" and everything else would still be the same, Luke being shocked and all.

Remake? Now that's wrong in every way.
