Here's a semi-related question - the Polyhedron article/game isn't really clear on this, but is the following correct?
- Mutants always get the non-random stock mutations
- They might get one or more of the random stock mutations if they roll 91-100 on the Random Mutation chart.
- They might get their stock defect if they roll 91-100 on the Random Defect chart.

Also, if you were going to let players choose their mutations and defects (as a straight one-to-one point buy), how would you handle the stock mutations/defects? Assuming that they always have the non-random stock mutations, would you have the random stock mutations always cost 1 point less (minimum of 1)? And perhaps have the stock defects be worth 1 point more (to make them more worthwhile to take, and therefore more prevalent in that stock/breed)?
