I assume that's the same answer you give your players after a TPK? ;)

Occasionally. Though I can be nice. :) It's rare but it's been known to happen. I will admit though I'm not fond of save or die effects. At least magical ones. Non-magical I deal with. (Hey you're the idiot that thought he could fly! ;)

The Munchkins have won! Game balance is destroyed! Manyshot is now weaker than originally published, the rules will be more streamlined and clear, and Half-Ogres have an ECL that's between a Human and an Ogre!

Its been a fun ride, but I guess D&D is finally dead.

There's nothing wrong with striving for game balance. many DMs consider it a goal. I've posted why I think Archers are overpowered. I've posted why I think I think half-Ogres are overpowered.

No one has shown me a build in either case that contradicts my numbers (though it's still early for the archer).

If you disagree with what I think my builds show, I'd be happy to see any builds you come up with that counter my results. I may be wrong, after all.

I've said this before, but...
------------
I heard that the Knights Templar are releasing DnD3.5e in order to distract the world from their true treasure, the blood line of Jesus!!!

They tried this frst with the BoVD, but it wasn't contraversial enough, and some gamers are getting to close to the truth for their liking.

Yeah, that and penguins.

Funny. :p

Balancing a game in terms of optimal character 'builds' is pointless. I don't think fantasy worlds should be conducive to such things, which includes taking whatever feat or prestige class or spell or whatever you want without having to *learn* it somewhere (something that ought to be tough for the more difficult, prestigious, higher-level feats/classes/spells etc.), being able to buy any 30k gp item you want at every corner magic store, or using buff spells to transform yourself and your equipment into that of someone 20 levels higher on a daily basis.

The game has very few balance issues, if any, in the hands of a fair and resourceful DM.

Or just a plain evil bastard such as my self that quarters starting gold, triples the cost of most magical items (save potions and scrolls but then only with some of a certain level), and also increases the spellcaster requirements for some item creation feats (such as wands and wonderous items.) :)
