OMG! My Mom ROCKS!!! She made my day!

Whoa!

My mom was cool and all, but she could never remember a thing I wanted.

For example, she used to buy me this "trail mix" of nuts and fruit and stuff, but she would always get the stuff with chocolate chips in it. I told her I liked everything but the chocolate chips. And yet, every time, there would be more and more chocolate chips. My friends used to make fun of me because my mother didn't know what I liked. Then one day I opened my lunch and found a bag of nothing but chocolate chips. My friends laughed and laughed. And I felt totally unhappy...until I suddenly realized I had a bag of chocolate chips, of course.

I love chocolate chips, but please don't mix them with sunflower seeds.

Aren't happy endings great? :)

Well, my mom is like my best friend. Last year, she was coming up to visit (which she planned to coincide w/ 2 booksales in Buffalo... we bought many books and had a blast) and then I was going to drive us both back down to my parents, so I could visit. So, I'm on the phone with her before all this, planning and I asked her if she's make what we call porcupine meatballs while I was down (they have rice in them, so they look kinda like porcupines... you need a pressure cooker to make them, and I don't have one). She started to laugh and then told me she had planned to make tsome and bring them up with her to Buffalo in the cooler. Good minds think alike. :D
Also, a lot of you know I'vee been going through a lot of stuff. Well, my mom, who has SEVERE scoliosis and has a hard time sitting, walking, or standing for long periods of time, has driven up (an at least 5-6 hour drive) after a hysterical phone call from me, not once.. not twice, but three times from me. It takes her 7-8 hours, because she has to keep stopping to walk around, and the last time, she drove through her fist white-out around Rochester, but she's still done it.
My mom is the best and I'm a very lucky person to have her.

Your mom sounds awesome. Uh...is she, um...*cough*...y'know, single?

(Just kidding! )

Well, my dad IS 67 and has asthma.;)
I've been keeping my mom up to date on this thread, and she's getting a real kick out of it and is kinda flattered by the nice things you guys have said. She's a lot like me, and likes to be friendly & nice to people and tries to go out of her way, when she can, to help people. She's had to deal with a lot of crappy stuff for a while now (her back, my dad had prostrate cancer and is okay now, my grandma, work, me, and other stuff) so I try to tell her how great she is all the time. The fact that other people, strangers really, agree with me helps to make her feel good and get her through the junk stuff that has to be done. Thanks from the both of us and I'll will continue to brag about her on here. :D

Awesome. It is my personal hope in life that should I ever be lucky enough to find the right woman (heaven forbid she isnt a gamer or someone close-minded), that I would raise little gamers of my own. I'm happy for you palleomortis, that you and your dad get along very well, well enough to game together! ;)

It's good that she's cool with this. I don't know what my mom would say......

I like to try to help people. It's the best thing you can do in life. ;)

Nope. Because it was you who bought them, not your mom.... :p

Mom did pretty good again this weekend. She found More Leaves from the Inn of the Last Home. I had to wrack my brain to remember if I had it or not, but luckily I remembered what the cover was supposed to look like from seeing it somewhere, so we confirmed I didn't have it, just the first Leaves... and History of ... . She found more stuff for herself this weekend, but good for her.:) Besides, Spring, Summer, & Fall are when most of the sales are, and the season's just picking up.
