Omniscient Gods annoy me. (Long)

If you're trying to hide from gods, you typically need the help of another god. Team up!

Yes, find out what god would want Bane (whoever he is) back and get them to help you.

Unfortunatly where Bane was destroyed is now a dead magic zone. But I like the idea of finding a part of him, some sort of divine essence. Perhaps the First High Imperceptor has some that he'll be willing or unwilling to share.

So Bane cannot exist where there is no magic? Huh?

Convince someone that something bad will happen (prophecy of an artifact destroying the world, etc.) and that only Bane can undo it. Then all the good guys will try and get him back to "save the world"

The FRCS the Bane "renewed his old alliances with Loviatar, Malar, Mask and Talona" after coming back. So these are probably the deities most likely to be willing to help.

This is just a general idea:

In many published adventures in Dungeon and otherwise, the evil schemers have somehow managed to corrupt a good organization to their cause. I think you should aim for the same. I'm not sure how you could accomplish that.

Tying in with that idea is to use decoys.

Step 1: Infiltrate an anti-bane organization, and find out what their up-to-date intelligence (divinations) says about you and your group.
Step 2: Using that information, posing as someone else, hire an adventuring group or two of non-witting goody-twoshoes, which you work into mathing your description from Step 1. The divinations are vague, so this might work.
Step 3: Send your decoy groups to complete missions somewhat similar to what the information the enemy has said about your future activities.

If all goes well, the enemy will be at least somewhat hindered in their search for you and your activities.

Bane's death caused the dead magic zone. We have been going there to discuss plans as there we are immune to divinitions and pesky gods :). Maybe it's time to look around a bit.

I'm really liking some of these ideas so far. Keep em coming.

Alas, I also recall such a thing, but in a very vague way.

What one COULD do...

Remember in the Star Wars books ? The emperor's essence linguered near Endor.

You could say that when a god is destroyed, shards of him remain where he was slain, so a band of powerful epic evil dudes could go to where he was slain, trick a god into going there, and somehow have that god become the vessel for Bane's soul.

After that, it's a matter of rebuilding his worshipper base so that he can gain in strength.

Sounds like a campaign hook to me.

I don't know exactly when all of the power Bane had invested in his Baneliches was returned to the gods (either when Bane returned [in canon] or Xvim did it at some point). If they still exist they still contain a portion of his power. Now if you could collect this power somehow, and return it to his corpse floating in the Astral (or is it Ethereal) plane, you might be able to resurrect him with some sort of Ritual.

I think something like this happens in the novel "Finders Bane", you might want to look there for inspiration.
