On average, what level is your PC when the campaign ends and you roll up a new PC?

we tend to keep our characters from campaign to campaign, its more fun having a continuous character

For the people who ended their campaign before or around 10th level how many of you would have continued if you had a super-module (ala Return to Temple of Elemental Evil) designed to carry characters from 10th to 20th level?

It wouldn't have helped in any of my cases. THe games ended either because the DM or the PCs were just to tired of the game nad decided it was over. Personally, even in the games that ended high, I was prepared to continue going on.

When I used to play (waaaay back ago) we never got past 9th level, I had a fighter/mage 8/8 and a ranger who got up to 6th level. I also had other characters with other DM's, one of them reached 11th character and my DM (one of my players, I taught him how to play) decided he didn't want a high level player so he quit DMing...

As a DM I have three campaigns gooing on, two of them momentarely suspended sinve I've moved, but we play some summer days. In both of the the average party level is 9 and they have been running for four years...
The most recent campaign (only one year) is a 4th level average party...

We usually don't get to super high levels. The game I'm running will end at about 18-20th level with luck. After RttTOEE and a couple other adventures I have planned I want to give my brother the reigns and start a new game so I can actually play the friggin game! Then I can start a new Greyhawk campaign based in the 560's or so.

7-8, but that's skewed by the fact that 3e has only been around for a few years - my groups only finished one campaign so far, and we semi-retired the characters at 17-18th level (and they're coming out of retirement for a few weeks this saturday).

I can see all the current campaigns ending at much higher levels than we used too.
