On warning points...

ETA- following up on this, and @UngainlyTitan - this is still the case. You can see other commenter's warning points. So if this is unintentional, might want to fix.
In case it helps debug the issue, this is only true while logged in. An anonymous visitor to the site cannot see other people's warnings. This leads me to think that the Registered Users group (or ENWorld's equivalent) has the warnings permissions set to "View warnings for specific groups" instead of "View own warnings only".

I suspect seeing warnings doesn’t provide any great insight beyond what we know already. If you’re present on the boards enough to care, you’re probably present enough to know that warnings are given out. The precise number probably isn’t that important.

The problem here is that you're thinking like a good, kind person interested in legitimate discussion. :)

Consider this from the POV of a person who is actively trying to get a rise, stir up drama, or derail a thread. Knowing who has the most warning points could help give you a better target to achieve that goal.

Also, I know that my gut reaction would make me more likely to hit the "Ignore" button on someone with lots of warning points. I also know that's really not the intention and/or how the mods use them, which makes it kind of a gray area that I know I might fall into.

I don’t think it’s better or worse, just different. There’s a good amount of pros and cons to both setups.

Are people honestly that calculating/Capable of that level of restraint/liable to that much provocation? I don’t see it. Maybe naive.
