One-line villains

Okay, here's the gig.

Choose a villain that you have either run as a DM, or encountered as a player. It must be a villain that actually saw use in-game; one you made up but never got to run doesn't count.

Now, describe him/her/it as best you can in one sentence. (That's one real, grammatically correct, non-run-on sentence.) Obviously, you can't give a detailed physical description or a major plotline, so focus on the villain's most salient or impressive feature, or perhaps his primary goal. The idea behind this is to see what sort of ideas we can draw from each other, and how much inspiration we can generate.

I'll start with one:

An ancient and immensely powerful lich, who managed to make his phylactery all but indestructible, has grown tired of existance and seeks to destroy the world in hopes of ending himself with it.

A deranged gnome necromancer who worships the god of greed and gluttony, struggling to take his vengence against the village that scorned him as a child.

An arrogant gnome psion/thief (it was in AD&D 2e) who self-styled himself the "King of Assassins", and would kill for no other purposes than prove his nickname is right.

A priestess of life thought slain by undead but actually was abandoned alive but possessed by an evil spirit; her helpless cries were answered by the lord of the void who freed her to prepare for his coming.

A benevolent nobleman who generously provides for his family & people by secretly selling the transmutated monsters he creates from evil criminals & brigands.

A VERY ugly, lower-plains corrupted elf bent on using any means necessary to drain enough life energy to fuel the milennia-dead demon thrall with enough power to break free of it's obsidian sphere prison and manifest a new body of it's own.

A dwarf court advisor (thing Grim Wormtongue) who send to their death (included the king's son) all those who oppose the hobogblins & dark deity of the underworld, in exchange for having made a secret pact of them not attacking the dwarven clan (also unknown to the clan's king).

A doppleganger spy and assassin who accompanied the PCs on several of their adventures, polymorphed /disguised as a pathetic and innocuous female goblin just wanting for kindness and companionship.

An aged psion of a dying race, intent on driving his people to war against all other nations before he dies, so he can recapture the glory he once knew.

A mad gnomish engineer, granted the ability to speak with and animate machines by an encounter with a mysterious artifact found while excavating the subways in fey London, who uses his powers to take revenge against those who spurned his genius.

A charming British gentleman, renowned for his service to the Bureau for the Management of Magic, who secretly plots their downfall so that he, being the only one with magical power, will be able to rule the world.

A Shade fighter that is allied with a drow wizardess and whose principal tactic is to draw his enemies into dreams using a magical sword, where he can torment them at little risk to himself.

A powerful wizard cult leader fails in his attempt to free his demon master from imprisonment and in his desperation casts an augmented form of wish to go back in time and try again... only the wish wasn't fulfilled as he had hoped and he has to make due with recuriting the younger timeline version of himself.

A beautiful human assassin/sorcerer (with a haunting fragrance resembling lavender), who alternately helps or hinders the PC's, depending on who's motivating her.
