D&D 5E One of my players married a beholder, help!?

You could also just say no because it's not possible.

Does a conversation about whether a beholder can conceive with a humanoid race really need to happen?
In fairness, the OP already made clear that the "child" was dreamt into being by the beholder. Which is actually in keeping with how VGtM describes beholder reproduction. No actual conception occurred (except in the sense that an idea was conceived).

Sure, but I think it is clear the OP has embraced the WAHOO school of D&D. Which is cool.

The thing I would want to know is how are you going to kitbash the miniature?

Not my style but if someone wanted to do that I'd make the player wear a special hat.

ROFLOL I was literally thinking of the same character and wondering if someone did DnD stats for her.

One resource I will mention, is that Volo's offers alternative eye rays. I typically prefer "Mirage Arcane" instead of antimagic fields, because it is more fun and less annoying to work with. But, if any of the traditional eye rays seem too much, you can always go there to look at alternatives.

This seems like it is a really solid plan. The Sidekick rules are kind of perfect for this sort of thing.
I legit use the UA sidekick rules all the time when I need a special Hero type NPC/DMpc when I need stuff like this.

You could also pattern the selection of Beholder abilities after the recent UA Tattoo/Summons that was released not too long ago. Follow the pattern on how it lets you choose certain abilities for summons and go from there.

Also, depending on the "color" of the eyes of the eyestalk, you could base certain spells from there. Like red having a more tendency for fire spells, etc, etc.

There are some homebrew version of beholderborn, and the half-beholder monster template was in the 3PP "Bastards and Bloodlines". And somebody has updated the stats of the lensman, a beholderkin with arms and legs.

The daughter looks like an elf except she has one large eye in her face and a large mouth. She has ten eyestalks that originate from various points under her hair (which is down to her feet) and are long enough to reach her feet, but can be retracted to about six inches.

So sort of like a Lensman Beholder?
