One Time...at Bard Camp...

The first session of my current Britannia 3E campaign had the PCs caught in the middle of a feud between two groups of mercenaries-cum-bandits, both of whom wanted sole control of a small village. One of the players (a diehard Eastwood fan) pinged it immediately as taken straight from _A Fistful of Dollars_.

Hong "which was, of course, based on Roman Polanski's _The Seven Samurai_" Ooi

The Magnificent Seven was based on The Seven Samurai. And that was directed by Akira Kurosawa.

You make me sad, hong. So very sad. :)

I've done a Predator adventure with terrorists and a bioweapon powerful enough to decimate north america. Everything went down in the top few floors of an archology. This barrowed from a lot.

And The Thing in space using the Aliens RPG.

Those are the two most blatant ripoffs off the top of my head. But each original and sweet enough to be made into a movie.

I played in a Predator/Aliens/Colonial Marines game one time that was set in a Space Station set up like an amusement park/carnival...was an entertainment destination that all of a sudden went quiet...Talk about Killer Clowns from Outer Space...

Which RPG did you use for that? Cyberpunk, Bughunters, Aliens RPG?

I have to say, The Aliens RPG I have by leading edge games has to have the most comprehensive and one of the fastest combat systems of any rpg I ever played and coincidently I never ran a true Aliens(TM) adventure with it.

It was in a universal system that never quite caught on called SOL by Heraldic Games. It’s since been releasd for free on their website...

I found it to be incredibly versatile and fairly rules lite...

we used it for Fantasy, Super Hero, Sci-Fi and more...

It really only has one chart you need to use while playing and only a few other (small) ones at all while designing things...
