Only three old Classes in PHB2?

First Post
I'm kind of concerned that there will be only 3 classes from old material in the second PHB, as noted by the Gamer Zero episode 37. I can understand a number of new classes, but shouldn't there be a large amount of space for more than just 3 old classes?

PHBII hasn't been announced so we have no clue as what the total class list of PHB II will include other than whats been already stated.

Races- first letters Gn, second letters o, e, and h, and one has the last letter of r.

Classes- First letters D, R, B, W, I, T, S, S, 5 of which are completely new to D&D

I'd say the "old" classes are Druid, Bard, Sorcerer which leaves R W I T S for the "new" ones.

rampant speculation

Barbarian, Druid, and Sorcerer, probably, yeah? The first two with the primal power source and sorcerer elemental.

This suggests that PHB2 will concentrate on new power sources. There's three in the first PHB, so it's reasonable to guess there's three more. If those are the only redone classes, we can count out ki (monk) and probably also psionic. So, shadow, I suppose.

And that further suggests that the _____ Power books may contain further classes that use that power source. For some examples, maybe Swashbuckler for Martial, and Bard and Illusionist for Arcane.

Druid and Sorceror, check. Only one 'B' so is it the Bard or Barbarian? So much for seeing all the old classes by PHB2.

I think 'I' will be a new Illusionist class. 'T' maybe a Thurmatagist, and 'S' for a Summoner or Shaman, 'W' for Witch. I base this on the notion that PHB2 will introduce new divine and arcane source based classes to fill the gap of the loss of specialist arcane and divine casters.

Willing to bet the other S is Shaman, as a Primal Leader. Either that, or it'll be Swordmage from the new Forgotten Realms Campaign Guide, reprinted.

I don't think they'll do a Witch and a Warlock. Seems silly.

They suggested Bard was going to be a web-based thing at one point ages ago.

At least two of the races are Gnome and Shifter. I think they mentioned another G as well, so Goliath?

I think it's likely barbarian to match the druid and the primal power source. I'll buy Shaman as another for the same reason.

So, yeah, my theory is those will go in the Divine and Arcane Power books. But I freely admit I have no basis for this.
