OOC: I'm 90% positive you can only take a Bonus Action on your turn.

You are correct: 1 action and one bonus action. You can also take 1 reaction. this means that you can cast a maximum of 3 spells per round: one during your turn as part of your normal action, one on your turn as a bonus action (cantrip), and one out of turn as a reaction.

Right, which would preclude casting Misty Step as a bonus action on someone else's turn to avoid falling damage. I think feather fall is going to be your only option to avoid damage.

For clarification, the bonus action doesn't have to be a cantrip. The limitation is that if you do cast a spell as a bonus action, the spell you cast using your action can only be a cantrip.
