D&D 5E [OOC] A Light Hearted Princes of Elemental Evil Hack and Slash

Personally, I think we should hit the spire, just based on geography. While we know the delegation was last seen with dudes from the Stone Monastery at Rivergard, we also found the shallow graves featuring bodies from the delegation, one dude probably from the Spire, and one dude probably from the Monastery. The thing is, the graves were west of the Monastery, meaning on the opposite side from Rivergard. At least some of the delegation traveled further than the Monastery.

Plus, they attacked us. F those guys.

So guys, long rest and we go after Drosnin and the bugbears? Tom seems to cooperate, so I don't have a problem with him staying alive.

No objections here.

The scrolls should probably go to Carrodoc, as he's the only mage with a spellbook that can accept non-ritual spells.
I don't know this has been explicitly stated, but I'll chime in as being of the belief that a character who takes an item of loot should not be made to pay the item's cost from her share of coin. I would instead much rather we simply assign items where they will get their highest and best use.

The way I reckon it, if a scroll comes our way, for example, we would naturally offer it to a spellcaster with a spellbook and not make the recipient pay for the item. Similarly, I hope if we ever come across plate mail, y'all will consider giving it to Dent. The more spells in Carradoc's and Thaliss's spellbook, the more we all benefit. Ditto for a character like Dent having killer armor.
I'm obviously very happy with this, but I'm invested in Carradoc building his spell book, and I'm fine if it means he has to take it out of his share, or if he's rounded down from time to time.

But yes, if there's a magic item someone wants, I'm in favour of people speaking up and using it. Consumables should go to the front line. Things should only be an issue if after a while things don't balance out.

Levelling.
I've picked some level 2 spells, and still need to pick a cantrip. Still thinking about feats.

Definitely, but we should clear out the keep if we can, to protect our backs. I agree with you that we should then hit the spire, after a quick stop at the shallow graves to beef up our favourite paladin. FYI, during down time, Thaliss would have shown Dent and Carradoc what the bodies looked like with minor illusion, so Dent would know if his captain was burried there.
Cheers,

Shayuri hasn't weighed in, but thus far it sounds like five of the six of us favor doling out treasure items where they will receive their best use, without requiring that the recipient pay for said item. Good deal, glad to be in a party of friends.

Edit: Long rest sounds good. I think circumstances require that the rest occur in the keep. If we try to leave we might have to fight our way out. Dent is out of paladin tricks. He still has hp and can swing his sword, but for now he's just a glorified fighter (and not even that glorified).

Oh yeah, sorry, I thought that went without saying. Although, we know there is a temple down here, but have no clue what might be down there. I know it's metagaming, but considering what Creamsteak said earlier, I'm not sure I want to see how many asymmetric fights we can win through pluck and stupidity. So... clear out the rest of the Keep, but save the temple for later?

Bugbears. Our original plan was to take out the decision makers and the more aggressive muscle, yes? If so, maybe the lesser guards on the wall can wait.
Yeah, it was just a thought. Basically they are the least threat, but most likely to spot us moving around inside the keep and sound an alarm.
