nay, it's a setup. like any tv sitcom romance, you have your on-off relationships that are teased and come close but, alas, don't quite make it as a full connection until later...

Therefore, the OotS will end up leaving the city without the connection being made. During another plot, Haley will eventually mention her father's fate, at which point Nate and/or Roy will speak up with an "umm.... you know, when we were doing that thing, and we were at that place ...."

Well, let's hope that's the worst of it. If OotS were more prone to Shakespearian tragedy, I'd be concerned that we were being set up to see
Roy or Belkar kill Haley's dad

Oh, I think it's much more likely we're going to see Roy and Belkar face off against Gannji and Enor. Especially since Gannji irritated Tarquin and Tarquin was impressed with Roy's fighting skills. Those other two guys have been in jail for a while, so I'm guessing they're not prime gladiator material.
