I believe the Ambassador is V's mate or at the very least aware of V's latest "activities" back in the Elven lands.

The elven ambassador's name is Polozius, introduced in strip 742: Giant In the Playground Games

I think strip 754 (Giant In the Playground Games) has the first hints at some friction between V and Polozius. Interesting to note that whatever problem there is, Blackwing is unaware of it, so V must not have been thinking about Blackwing when it took place...

Hmm, must be something that predated Blackwing (or at least when V had Blackwing around constantly).

IIRC, from Origin of the PC's, didn't V become an adventurer because he was semi-exiled from the Elven lands because of a horrible accident at a spell research contest, when his new spell had mixed-up variables for range and area of effect, leading to casualties in the audience?

Perhaps Polozius lost a loved one in V's backstory accident?
