Yeah but he is stressing how evil he is, and setting up the Lizard Duo as a shade of Grey between the OoTS and Tarquin. Tarquin was a good choice of name for him I think.

I LIKE the lizard subplots and all the little sidetracks! Relentless driving plottiness gets to the end of the story quicker, but Rich's pacing works really nicely when you go back to the books or the online archives and read the story as a whole imho.

Anyway, am I the only one who gets the feeling that Rich is laying the groundwork to set up a lizard adventuring party here? Gennji and Enor plus Tarquin's albino cleric party-mate cover three of the four traditional party roles....

At some point in the (near?) future, the OotS will lose a member... I have been wondering if Gannji and/or Enor will be the replacement.

The li'l one (forget which one he is) would make a good spiritual replacement for Belkar when he (probably) dies. They share some aspects of their personality, and he'd make a more palatable "not-a-good-guy" member of the team. Though nobody'll be able to approach the awesome of Belkar, he could at least cover the role without too much effort.

Edit: Someone mentioned a lizard adventuring party... is it just me, or would the allosaurus make for an awesome fourth member?
