Still can't kill Vaarsuvius just yet, Rich hasn't resolved his prophesy. (No ultimate power attained)

What if Belkar strikes Vaarsuvius down, and Vaarsuvius becomes more powerful than he can possibly imagine?

Elan put up a good fight for a while though.
For a while. Until Nale changed tactics and went for the psychological warfare, he was getting his butt handed to him, quite handily too I might add.

Cheers for Haley's gibberish speak finally being done and over with! Drinks all around!

This strip is awesome.

So what I'm thinking for Dashing Swordsman is to incorporate the following abilities somehow.

Add your Charisma modifier instead of Strength to damage bonus with a rapier when making a witty remark or spouting off a catchphrase.

Add your Charisma modifier to your AC while wearing light or no armor.

Gain some sort of benefit if you attempt a special maneuver instead of making a normal attack. Like if you do a bull rush, disarm, or trip, you might gain a bonus to AC or attacks next round.

Improve your speed. After all, this swordsman is dashing.

Save the speed boost, I was thinking along those same lines.

1st level = Cutting Wit -> Charisma for damage instead of Strength, but must make a pun or other witty remark prior to making the attach roll.

2nd level = Dapper Duelist -> Add Charisma to Defense when unarmored and fighting either unarmed or with a finessed one-handed weapon. Bonus is lost when flat-footed.

3rd level = Savior Faire (sp?) -> Replace Strength or Dexterity with Charisma for special manuevers such as bull rush, disarm attempts, or trip attacks.

4th level = Scathing Retort -> Add Charisma bonus to attack roll when making an attack of opportunity. Can combine with Cutting Wit.

5th level = Grand Entrance -> Once per day, can make a Perform (oratory) check to fascinate (as per bard ability) a number of people equal to your Charisma x class level.

I think 5 levels is enough for a Dashing Swordsman PrC. BAB = +1/level, saving throws as per bard class, d8 hit dice/level, 6 skill points/level.

^not too shaaby for fifteen minutes' worth of thought, and a decent enough starting place.

Dashing Swordsman is a 10 level class according to Elan's mentor (can't remember his name). Looks good otherwise, but I want Rich to post his version. :D

I'm thinking maneuvers from Desert Wind are in order. You'd gain a special stance that allows you to add Charisma to damage during any round in which you make a witty pun or spout a catch-phrase.

And remember- the Dashing Swordsman is from a 3rd-party book found in a discount bin. It is probably from the early days of 3.0, and might not be perfectly balanced from a mechanical stand-point. In fact, it is probably hilariously overpowered. :D

I want to see Rich's version too.
